I’m a late middle-aged guy who recently decided to re-engage with my love of photography. I’ve never been able to draw or produce anything requiring manual dexterity and envied those who could.

But with photography, all I had to do was be able to see something beautiful, compose a shot and navigate a few settings on the back of a camera before something occasionally quite pleasing popped out the back. It was kinda magic!

So I dabbled for many years, took one or two courses way back in my early 30’s, then took snaps of my wife and kids as we navigated the fog of war that comes with two kids, two jobs, one mortgage.

But in November 2024, I decided on a bit of a whim to be more serious. I’ve been fumbling and thrashing about ever since, taking courses, reading books, going on workshops, learning how to edit and develop, and snapping thousands upon thousands of pics.

This site is a record of my (mis)adventures as I go, mostly as a way to remind myself that I am making progress when I’m stuck and depressed and need reminding about how far I’ve come.

But also because it’s kinda fun to share this stuff with a few others. If you’d like to follow along, feel free. I would love your company.
