The Faroe Islands

June 2025

I really hesitate to publicise the Faroe islands - I really do. They are to me a perfect little slice of Planet Earth - otherworldly beautiful, largely undiscovered by the tourist hordes, and operating in perfect order. I’d hate for them to become overrun.

Sandy and I ventured up there in June and spent a happy week exploring the 18 islands, most joined by a network of undersea tunnels. There’s even a roundabout in the Eysturoyartunnilin tunnel located several hundred feet beneath the seabed. Very cool.

For me, this was the first time I started playing around with black & white, and I enjoyed the results. Let me know down below whether you prefer the colour or B&W versions.
